Copper hot foil blocking dies are becoming increasingly harder to buy due to recent raw material price increases. Thankfully, at Dies Direct we’ve bucked the trend as we have vast experience in the production of copper dies for the hot foil stamping industry. Our skilled staff and modern equipment help us produce the very best copper dies.
Copper keeps its shape better under heat compared to other metal types, meaning a much better registration rate. Therefore, they can be used on a variety of different products, including; promotional material, security print, packaging, book covers, stationery and general print where intricate detail is required.
The benefits of a copper die include (but is not limited to):
- It’s durability
- Ideal for close up, intricate detail (much more so than other metals)
- Excellent for foiling small font type
- Copper is ideal for adding an embossed, textured finish to a job
- More consistent register precision due to its greater heat retention
- Long lasting – up to 1 million impressions
- Deeper finishes available*
*As standard we etch foiling dies to 1.2mm. However, deeper finishes are available upon request depending on the substrate to be foiled onto.
You can order copper dies in the following gauges:
- 6.35mm (quarter inch)
- 1.6mm (16 gauge)
