The term double etching is used to describe the process of adding a fine pattern or wording to a foiling die to either increase the visual effect of the finished product, or to add an additional security feature. Commonly at Dies Direct we refer to this as a micro-embossing die.
As the name suggests, double etched dies are etched twice! The first process produces what we call a flat foiling die, followed by the second process which adds a pattern, a texture or wording to the die. The second etching process adds a uniqueness to the die making the artwork practically impossible for a counterfeiter to reproduce.
“Double etching is the perfect solution for securing your brand against forgery”
We offer a 48 hour dispatch time on our copper and brass dies but due to the complexity of a double-etched die we can only offer a dispatch date following receipt of artwork. We offer worldwide shipping.
Our experience at producing double etched security dies makes us a great choice when you’re choosing your next die supplier.
